Propulsion Analysis Engineer Level 2

Researches, develops, analyzes, designs, and tests company products using engineering and scientific principles. Translates engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle. Analyzes and verifies product design and performance. Applies knowledge of air-breathing propulsion analysis techniques and methods for vehicle propulsion system design and optimization. Ability to model, analyze, test , develop, apply, and communicate propulsion analyses. Propulsion analysis may include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, fire safety, aerodynamics, acoustics, particle trajectory and icing analysis

Responsibilities

Work Location: Wichita, KS

Key Responsibilities:

· Engineering experience in conducting icing prevention or ice shedding analysis and design.

· Experience in applying physics and the laws of thermodynamics to advanced materials for subsonic and supersonic air vehicles.

· Familiarity with software tools to model ice mass predictions of anti-ice systems airplane structures and systems such as wing and nacelle.

· Must be familiar with gas dynamics equations and principles, gas turbines engine operation, and CFD analysis.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Be a self-starter and have demonstrated high levels of resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Requires 2 to 4 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 0 to 2 years of experience with Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.

· US citizenship or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Skills:

· Desired to have proficiency in the use of CATIA and Patran/Nastran.

· Desired to have knowledge of CFD, Aerodynamics, and Thermocouple Instrumentation.

· Icing Wind Tunnel test experience

· An interest in conducting ice prevention or ice shedding analysis and system design.

· An interest in thermal analysis of aircraft structures
