Charles Schwab Sr Manager, Software Development & Engineering Senior in Westlake, Texas

Duties : Design, develop, test, deploy and support technology for Advisor Service technology applications. Lead a team of developers to develop and deliver new features in the system. Interact with individuals from across Schwab in different supporting organizations and business groups. Coordinate between teams and report and resolve any dependencies. Communicate system design to the offshore development team and provide code review comments to adhere to best coding practices and scalability. Identify and document the primary solution for implementing the new system. Provide support in backlog grooming meetings to get user stories ready for implementation by breaking them down into smaller stories or tasks with technical details. Work within project team on iterative development that delivers a high-quality product. Perform design reviews for the Presentation, Service and Database tier changes. Communicate with the project management team about the status of the development team activities. Continuously integrate and deploy developed software. Update the continuous integration/deployment scripts as necessary to improve continuous integration practices. Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Westlake, TX.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $187,907 to $246,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s related experience. Experience must include some experience in each of the following skills: Implementing end-to-end (Full Stack) microservices with .Net Core programming language, using service discovery tool Arcata to release software application on cloud foundation, and using ASP.Net applications to understand business logic from monoliths to implement in microservices; ASP.NET Webforms, MVC, Angular, .Net core, Swagger, OpenAPI Specifications, and Micro Services designs to support the existing system and implement a new modernized system in parallel; Relational (SQL and Oracle) and Document-Based (No SQL or MongoDB) databases; Cloud Technologies (Pivotal Cloud Foundry and GCP); Container technology such as Docker and version control systems (bitbucket) for build management; CI/CD tools (Jenkins and Bamboo) and monitoring tools (App Dynamics); and Micro Frontend and micro services development.
