Position Summary:

Provides statistical support for research using various large datasets and data sources.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Collaborates with investigators to determine study design, contribute to protocol development, and write statistical analysis plans.

  2. Support data management and database maintenance for operational and research projects or efforts.

  3. Develops systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for monitoring the quality of different datasets.

  4. Develop programming code to analyze data using statistical analysis software.

  5. Perform advanced statistical models including but not limited to linear regression models, generalized linear regression models, trend analyses and/or spatial/temporal analysis.

  6. Develop and present findings resulting from statistical models and analyses, including summary tables, graphs and charts, for routing report or scientific reporting in peer-reviewed publications.

  7. Present results to appropriateinstitutional committees and groups.

  8. Perform literature review and support writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.

  9. Assist in supervising graduate student assistants when needed.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Demonstrates proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research.

Experience in data analysis of large administrative datasets (claims, registries, EMR) and observational studies.

Preferred:

Demonstrates proficiency with statistical methods and applications in spatial and temporal data analysis.

Experience in data analysis of large datasets (e.g., raster data) and observational studies preferred.

R/Python experience.

Minimum Education:

Master’s degree in related health science. PhD preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Two years of statistician experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
