JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Applications Specialist is responsible for supporting successful onboarding, adoption and ongoing utilization of MEDENT within Crouse Medical Practice (CMP). This position is responsible for identifying opportunities for MEDENT to optimize and automate clinical and administrative processes at CMP practices as well as training physicians and staff on the components of the service that meets their needs. This role requires an understanding of medical practice operations, knowledge of health care technology, and strong communication, presentation and training skills. The ideal candidate will have a high comfort level working with physicians, administrators, and their staff.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with MEDENT software application

  • Work directly with the EMR Supervisor and other IT team members to compile education curriculum that best supports CMP and Quality Measures/Value Base Payment programs while ensure ongoing optimization is prioritized.

  • Assisting in the ongoing implementation, optimization and maintenance phases of various application projects.

  • Coordinating, scheduling, and conducting end-user training as new employees are hired and on a regular basis, as needed.

  • Delivering customer support to physicians, clinicians, administrators, and staff via direct interaction, phone, and/or email.

  • Conducting practice workflow consultations and documenting current vs. future state processes.

  • Assisting in the development of marketing and communications plans.

  • Documenting and completing system configuration activities.

  • Promptly and accurately recording inquiries and their resolutions within the Support Desk tracking system.

  • Researching, evaluating, and making recommendations to EMR Supervisor regarding process improvements and new system functionality to improve end user satisfaction.

  • Tracking and reporting to management on progress toward established adoption and utilization goals.

  • Maintaining cooperative working relationships with senior management, information technology peers, clinical and administrative staff users.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s Degree required with a minimum of three years of experience in a health care setting, or a combination of experience and education.

  • Nine (9) months experience in clinical applications support in the healthcare industry or degree in Medical Informatics.

  • Previous experience in using MEDENT in a clinical or clerical capacity.

    Pay Range: $19.00 - $25.00 DOE
