Microsoft Corporation Product Manager II in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Fraud Protection team is seeking a Product Manager II with proven track record of strategizing and shipping great products. Our mission is to help digitally transformed enterprise customers prevent all types of online fraud while keeping friction low for genuine customers and partners. Our team has protected Microsoft’s multi-billion dollar businesses from fraud and abuse for more than a decade, and we are now expanding to bring these capabilities to external organizations as a fraud Platform-as-a-Service offering. While early in this journey, we are already working with some of the named clients in the world as customers and co-creators, and our ambition is to disrupt the global Fraud Protection market which is quite fragmented as of today. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to work with cutting-edge technologies to solve a planetary scale problem using the power of big, connected data, real-time Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As a product manager II, you will be the customer’s voice and work directly with engineering, data science, design, leadership, marketing, integration/service partners and other stakeholders to help conceive, define and build products which delight customers. You will drive the product strategy, feature roadmap, market positioning and Go To Market (GTM) messages to fulfill unmet customer needs. This is a high impact role, requiring effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. A successful candidate will have experience in customer empathy, passion to learn new technologies and conduct product research, program management skills, analytical reasoning, be a team player, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll be joining an agile team that collaborates and moves quickly. Responsibilities

  • Lead direct customer (internal and/or external) engagements to solicit feedback and understand the needs, and convert it into friendly and feasible solution ideas for product backlog and feature prioritization.

  • Translate overall product vision into well-defined user stories and functional requirements with measurable success criteria.

  • Formulate well-reasoned arguments to justify plan/priorities and exert influence without authority.

  • Oversee project execution and product delivery with a knack for seeing around corners to ensure proactive problem resolution leading to high quality and timely delivery.

  • Simplify and explain complex technical concepts to different audiences in internal and external forums.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in program management in shipping high-quality software products (high scale products with focus on Friendly User Experience delivery is a plus).

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Solid technical aptitude, able to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks.

  • Experience in user interaction design collaborating with UI designers. Familiarity with non-functional product requirements such as accessibility, privacy, security etc.

  • Self-motivated, creative problem-solver who knows how to stay unblocked and when to ask for help

  • Leadership skills and ownership mindset. Demonstrates accountability and is comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback

  • Collaboration skills with focus on creating clarity, generating energy and delivering success

  • Written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail

  • Experience in Fraud protection, ML/AI, big data experience preferable but not a requirement

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
