Infinite Health Collaborative (iHealth) Surgery Scheduler - Haugen OB/GYN in Plymouth, Minnesota

Description The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordination of clerical, scheduling duties and phone calls. Also responsible for coordination of registering patients, as necessary. This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm out of our Edina and Plymouth locations. Haugen OB/GYN is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions: Responsible for accurately scheduling surgeries/procedures, notifying patients of any time changes Update insurance information as appropriate and ensure updates get on patient's chart Work in conjunction with Physicians and Manager on block scheduling and utilization Work with the Patient Services Representative's team on the flow of the schedule to maintain smooth work flow of the day Assist in training new staff in scheduling as necessary Communicate equipment availability to team on a weekly basis Report occurrences through the center's established occurrence reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events Foster the developmental and educational process of self, colleagues, orientees and students (includes functioning as a preceptor) Participate in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements Maintain strong, interpersonal relationships, professionalism and communication with all physician office schedulers and other coworkers Assist in managing controllable costs by the proper, non-wasteful use of Surgery Center resources Actively participate in Quality projects. Identify issues and assist in collection of data for Quality purposes Contribute personally to the "team oriented" environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with all Surgery Center employees Participates in department/team meetings Serve as backup for the Patient Services Representative as needed Any and all other duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma/GED or equivalent Two years' experience in related field Medical technology knowledge Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, while achieving results in a fast-paced environment Essential Requirements: Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines. Complete job required training.
