Siemens Energy Compressor Systems Engineer(P) in Painted Post, New York

ASnapshot of Your Day:

The Compressor Systems Engineeris responsible for the design and implementation of auxiliary systemssupporting turbo-machinery equipment packages. These may include lubrication,seal & hydraulic oil systems, seal gas and buffer gas systems, unit instrumentationand controls.

The successful candidate willhave an interest and competency in Compressor Systems design and manufacturingand is expected to assume a leadership role within a collaborative engineeringteam including, as required, a project manager, project engineer, productdesign engineer, systems drafting, core technology specialists, servicecenter/factory assembly teams, customers, and suppliers.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Review and compare applicable customer projectspecifications to company and industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI, NEMA, etc.).Then resolve any discrepancies before design and construction of equipment isimplemented.

  • Develop unique designs as required to meet projectrequirements. This may include wiring, surge control, logic and processdiagrams and their corresponding bills of materials.

  • Create project-specific purchasing and designspecifications that clearly detail bespoke design requirements. This mayinclude unique fluid handling systems, process valves or control panels.

  • Issue requests for quotations (RFQ’s) to suppliers forcomponents and/or packaged systems, review offers for suitability and liaisewith suppliers throughout the delivery cycle.

  • Conduct or attend engineering meetings with internal andexternal customers and sub-suppliers to achieve complete, correct and timelydelivery of specified goods and services.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical,Chemical, Aeronautical/Aerodynamic, or equivalent degrees from an ABETaccredited college/university will be considered). Bachelor’s degree in physicsmay be considered.

  • Experience in turbomachinery systems engineering oftechnologically advanced rotating equipment including in-depth knowledge of API614 and API 692 and good working knowledge of API-613, API-617, ASME Section 8and ANSI B31.3.

  • Experience working with rotating machinery such ascentrifugal/ axial compressors, gas/steam turbines; or experience working for arotating equipment supplier or EPC is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrates high attention to detail with goodorganizational and time management skills.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in theUnited States without need for current or future employer-sponsored workauthorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may beeligible for internal transfers.

This job may be based in PaintedPost or Olean, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellnessbenefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding ourbenefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html.The basesalary range for this position in Painted Post or Olean, New York is $70,000 -$90,000.

Specific offers are determined byvarious factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other businessneeds. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, thoughcompensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Hybrid position requiring at least3 days a week in office.
