Position Overview

Navistar has an exciting opportunity for a Environment & Sustainability Manager.This role will be reporting to the Environmental & Sustainability Director within the Office of the General Counsel. This position will support environmental compliance and sustainability activities across the organization. Our team is responsible for environmental compliance and sustainability management for Navistar, a manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles and a member of TRATON Group.

In this position, you will be responsible for defining and executing strategies that result in maintaining and continuously improving our environmental compliance program and advancing our sustainability ambitions. This position will oversee our ECMS (environmental compliance management system), ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) software implementation, and provide expert support for sustainability initiatives

Responsibilities

• Supporting Navistar facilities in their environmental compliance programs

• Supporting environmental audit program

• Managing external environmental engineering resources

• Working with the team to manage environmental and sustainability metrics, including emissions, waste, water, and other key performance indicators

• Key role in developing sustainability goals

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• At least 12 years of regulatory affairs / government relations experience

• 2 years of lead experience

OR

• Master's degree

• At least 8 years of regulatory affairs / government relations experience

• 2 years of lead experience

OR

• At least 14 years of regulatory affairs / government relations experience

• 2 years of lead experience

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

• Substantial experience with environmental management systems

• Experience with energy management systems and energy efficiency practices a plus

• Knowledge of Clean Air Act, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA and state equivalents

• Experience working with environmental and sustainability data systems

• Experience working with environmental regulators

• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience presenting to all levels

• Comfortable working within a global organization

• Fluency in Spanish would be an asset
