Navistar, Inc. Director of Trade Compliance & Third-Party Due Diligence in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

Navistar has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Trade Compliance & Third-Party Due Diligence.

The individual will lead and advise the international trade activities for each Navistar location and guide all locations to comply with any applicable regulatory requirements worldwide relative to customs, export compliance, and various anti-corruption regulations.

The hybrid position reports into the Office of the General Counsel and will be based out of Corporate Headquarters in Lisle, Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and file disclosures as needed with relevant government agencies

  • Manage the corporate trade compliance and anti-corruption due diligence programs, audits, and training

  • Evaluate and mitigate potential trade compliance risks and leverage opportunities

  • Drive process improvements cross-functionally

  • Stay well informed and monitor international trade and FCPA/anti-corruption regulatory changes and update applicable policies and procedures

  • Serve as the subject matter expert relative to import and export trade control and anti-corruption

  • Consult with senior leadership on international trade and anti-corruption due diligence issues, recommend solutions and/or mitigation plans, and identify and implement cost-, time- and risk-minimization opportunities

  • Manage internal & external trade compliance resources and systems

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 14 years of import/export administration experience

  • At least 6 years of management experience

OR

  • Master's degree

  • At least 12 years of import/export administration experience

  • At least 6 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 16 years of import/export administration experience

  • At least 6 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

  • U.S. Customs Broker’s License

  • Strong analytical ability

  • USMCA, Customs valuation, export control and FCPA experience

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage a variety of projects

  • Strong oral and written communicator

  • Aptitude for critical thinking
