We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Drafter. This position will be based in Heber Springs, AR.

Role Description

  • Work with the engineering team to design models of parts and assemblies for energy management equipment from concepted to completed 3D model.

  • Understand requirements that have impact in the mechanical configuration of the switch.

  • Design parts and assemblies to meet the requirements of “Design-To-Order” tasks using 2D and 3D modeling programs.

  • Manage the list of materials and mechanical assemblies needed to fulfill project technical requirements. Create Bills of Materials, develop new assemblies, validate functionality, and release prints to production.

  • Complete “Product Support” tasks based on identified Non-Conformances and design errors. This will include the update and correction of existing assemblies that have been found defective during assembly or commissioning operations.

  • Provide support and feedback as needed to the Siemens MV AIS R&D team for potential and ongoing cost savings projects that are vital to the business.

  • Assist in the migration of 2D parts to 3D NX models.

  • Develop knowledge of product and applicable codes and standards to complete required documents.

  • Understand that job descriptions change over time. You are expected to maintain competence, awareness, and compliance.

  • Treat all Siemens information and customer information in a confidential manner.

  • Understand and efficiently use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical design - Engineering Technology

  • Proficiency with 3D engineering tools (Teamcenter, Solid Edge, Solidworks, Unigraphics/NX).

  • Proficiency with 2D engineering tools. (AutoCAD)

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done with high quality in a professional manner.

  • Ability to multitask and handle full workloads and business demands.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to stay transparent about project status and planned completion dates.

  • An ideal candidate is detailed orientated and able to embrace a culture of quality & continuous improvement.

  • 10% travel required.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience with mechanical design.

  • Experience with design and manufacturing for overhead electrical distribution switch products and systems.

  • Experience with MRP solutions (SAP, Oracle, etc).

  • Experience with cloud-based CRM solutions (SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc).

  • Experience with VBA or other programming languages.

  • Experience with using programming to drive efficiency in projects.

  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards.

  • The pay range for this position is $47,500 - $88,300. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
