Entry-Level Drafter

POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time entry-level Drafter to join the Small Utility Services department in Fort Worth, Texas.

Roles and Responsibilities

This position will work with electrical engineers and designers to perform utility system design and develop construction drawings from conception through construction. The candidate should be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills. The candidate will be expected to learn and adhere to client drafting standards. Further, the candidate should be able to learn new software packages efficiently and retain and apply on the job training.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associate’s degree in an accredited program or sufficient industry experience

  • Ability to demonstrate comprehension of AutoCAD

Candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Willingness to share successes with the project team

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in order to communicate professionally with internal team members and clients

  • Strong understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) software with emphasis on AutoCAD

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (day trips)

  • Experience with 3D modeling and drafting tools
