Our client in the Utility Industry is hiring an Engineer Associate!

Job Title: Engineer Associate

Location: Remote with option for 1 day in office per week (Wednesdays), Central Ohio candidates preferred

Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional overtime

Rate: $29/hr.

Job Summary: As a Engineer Associate for the TAPR (Transmission Asset Performance and Renewal) you will play a vital role in supporting the Enhanced Needs Process by collaborating with stakeholders across the company. Your responsibilities will include gathering documentation, creating validation packages, and coordinating with various departments to justify asset renewal projects. This position is ideal for candidates with entry-level engineering experience, a focus on safety and reliability, and a desire to contribute to the timely completion of projects within approved budgets.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:

  1. Organize and develop validation packages for the TAPR Enhanced Needs Process, focusing on the development of a flexible 5-year Transmission Portfolio.

  2. Utilize the C55 Platform within the renewal process, creating investments for planned needs process assets and documenting best practices.

  3. Provide support to TAPR Coordinators in creating BPIDs for large TFS-sponsored programs within IRR.

  4. Assist with internal and external data requests, including supporting rate case filings and commission inquiries.

  5. Demonstrate technical expertise in solving well-defined problems, collaborating with higher-level engineers as needed.

  6. Coordinate work activities to resolve routine engineering tasks, demonstrating leadership and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.

  7. Contribute to project planning and scheduling, monitoring progress and recommending action accordingly.

  8. Actively seek out solutions to engineering problems and present new ideas and approaches as appropriate.

  9. Communicate effectively through reports, technical papers, and verbal interactions with team members.

  10. Develop interpersonal skills by networking with peers and fostering cooperation within the organization.

  11. Make routine decisions subject to review and contribute to team decision-making processes.

  12. Demonstrate business awareness by satisfying both internal and external customers and applying economic analysis techniques in problem-solving.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program

  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged

  • Candidates with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program will also be considered

Qualifications:

  • ABET accredited Degree
