Siemens Energy Production Planner - Small Machining in Charlotte, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As the planner of the Small Machining area in the Steam Turbine Service Operations business, you will lead people & projects to completion for critical customer outages that help ‘keep the lights on’. You are the operations manager’s target setter for execution. You will be the hub that connects the business by bringing together all the support organizations to apply our highly skilled and dedicated workforce and our unique equipment capabilities to deliver precision components.

  • Performance is measured in terms of delivery, cost, and how we develop our tools for planning efficiencies.

  • Applying data analytics, mining historical data, and a lean workflow mentality, you will bring this business to new heights.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and meeting customer and Siemens Energy expectations.

  • Interface and collaborate with various support teams by being the hub that connects the organizations for success.

  • Make an impact on our internal customers when situations are challenging to ensure they recognize that we are here to make it a great outcome for everyone.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor of Science with 5 or more years of experience with demonstrated abilities to schedule and plan. Experience in lieu of education will be considered for the right candidate.

  • Collaboration, planning, and excellent communication skills to act as the team hub as well as to win our internal customer’s confidence.

  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

  • Understanding of machining and nitriding processes with the mechanical proficiency and ability to plan efficiently.

  • Understanding of business financials.

  • Capacity planning, NAH forecasting and budgeting.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is a nice to have but what is needed is good problem-solving abilities.

  • Accustomed to making impromptu decisions to allocate production resources that impact customer delivery.

  • Solid understanding of MRP and Quality Control systems.

  • Project management experience is a plus.

  • Experience using SAP.

  • APICS certification in CPIM is highly desired.

  • Excellent experience with computers and Microsoft Office software.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

Small Machining is a service business through and through with a wide variation of parts and products. Components are made to support or internal customers along with external customers in the Nuclear or Fossil power generation business along with Aero-derivative components. The team is responsible for supporting marketing with quoting and shipping the product.
