    Job Description

INVESTIGATIONS COORDINATOR, Chancellor's Office-Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response Office (IDHR) (https://idhr.mit.edu/our-office/open-positions) , to provide professional investigation support to investigators and the manager of investigations in the form of legal research, complex and sophisticated case management, and assistance with file preparation for investigations based on a protected category under the Institute’s non-discrimination and harassment policies. Responsibilities include conducting complex legal, policy, and factual research; case management of complex and highly-sensitive matters, including managing voluminous case files, evidence gathering/collection, and post-investigation data management; participating in witness and party interviews, including assisting investigators with interview scripts, sophisticated and fast-paced electronic notetaking, and post-interview data management and follow up; devising and implementing strategies for searching for and processing large volumes of investigation documents/information; assisting with the preparation of investigation records and reports for release; managing the preparation of presentation materials and data; managing, editing, and organizing complex and voluminous investigation transcripts and their submission to third-party vendors; maintaining tracking systems for pending matters; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field; at least two years’ relevant experience, some of which must have been handling highly-sensitive information/matters; ability to work effectively on complex and sophisticated matters in a highly diverse environment; ability to take initiative and independently organize, prioritize, and carry out detailed work under time constraints; excellent listening, writing, and communication skills; and meticulous attention to detail. PREFERRED: background in litigation, legal support services, or investigations; strong organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively with complainants, respondents, witnesses, and others within the Institute community; discretion and good judgment with complex and confidential data; and high-level proficiency with Adobe, Microsoft Office, and databases.
