Montgomery County Community College Part-Time Academic Advisor in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Academic Advisor position.  The Part-Time Academic Advisor provides one-on-one as well as group academic, career and college transfer advising to students resulting in a heightened level of student engagement, comprehensive decision-making and utilization of a vast array of services to support student success.

This position is 5 days per week with a total of 25 hours per week.  During peak times, employee may work up to 29 hours. Hours are Monday through Friday with a Saturday rotation.  Work is done on the day shift with one required evening per week.  

 

*This position has college-wide responsibilities* *and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations.**

 

This position requires the candidate to submit the following 3 clearances as a condition of pre-employment: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Check, and FBI Fingerprints**

Essential Knowledge & Skills

Education/Training/Work Experience

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of student development theory, including career and transfer decision making.
  • Experienced in developmental or college level advising.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of technologies.
  • Evidence of continued professional growth and development.
