Montgomery County Community College Dean of Academic Innovation in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Dean of Academic Innovation position. The Dean of Academic Innovation is responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to the Pottstown Campus and in service to Academic Affairs. The Dean champions the growth and development of Pottstown Campus initiatives within the Tri-County area, promoting the College and its programs throughout the community. The Dean provides leadership to the Pottstown campus director, the directors of workforce, executive director of Educational Partnerships, manager of the Challenger Learning Center, and the manager of Youth Engagement and Educational Pathways. With this team, the Dean leads development of innovative, high priority offerings in credit, noncredit, professional education, and enrichment programming that responds to community, K-12, and workforce needs. The Dean of Acadenuc Innovation has the critical responsibility to provide creative and collaborative leadership to pathway programs, including dual enrollment and other high-school based support programs, as well as new and novel pathways to the College. The Dean is a visionary who cultivates innovative projects, programs, and initiatives for the Pottstown Campus and the College at-large. As a member of the VPAA and Provost's leadership team, the Dean acts to further the institution's goals towards diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between all campuses and to off-site locations.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • Master's in higher education or related field required; doctorate preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive administrative management experience required, and preferably in a community college setting.
  • Some teaching experience within a community college setting is preferred.
  • Data management and analysis abilities with demonstrated abilities to apply quantitative and qualitative reasoning to assessment, planning, management, and communications tasks.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of the importance of aligning programming from different areas (e.g., academic affairs, student affairs, and enrollment management leadership, programs, delivery systems and data use with the College's student success agenda.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

     

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience supervising staff and planning and directing operations and internal processes.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects; ability to work independently.?
