About the Role:

We are currently seeking to hire a Service Technician II . This role provides high quality repair and preventive maintenance services for Sea-Bird Scientific equipment. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, this role will be responsible for delivering outstanding quality on time, identifying, and implementing process improvements, and works collaboratively with Service Technicians I, II, and III.

Our ideal candidate will be an agile learner with a strong customer focus who enjoys being part of and building an effective team. A Successful Service Technician II is able to identify and help implement innovative process improvements required to meet or exceed the department’s Key Performance Indicators.

JOB DUTIES

  • Perform quality checks and pre-checks on components and parts required to complete a job

  • Follow detailed instructions in a variety of formats (i.e., drawings, schematics, bills of material, internal procedures, or some combination thereof), and report work completed daily

  • Perform functional testing and interpret results with oversight

  • Recognize and effectively report/communicate problems with quality

MINIMUM QULIFICATIONS

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical work experience

  • Basic knowledge of necessary instruments and tools such as hand and power tools, test jigs, voltmeters, and ohmmeters

  • Ability to read, interpret, and use engineering drawings and schematics

The hourly range for this role is $26.00- $28.00 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Washington.

This range may be modified in the future.
