Job Summary

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Athletics Business Office, including staff supervision and budget reporting. Cores responsibilities include facilitating contracts, tracking revenue, and managing day-to-day financial functions. Collaborating with the Senior Associate Athletic Director/CFO, they drive innovation and foster departmental collaboration for organizational success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Athletics Business Office, including direct supervision of two full-time employees.

  • Create and distribute comprehensive monthly budget reports, leveraging technology to streamline tracking and reporting processes.

  • Facilitate all Athletic Department contracts including ensuring appropriate review, obtaining approvals, organizing documentation, and tracking of key terms/deadlines.

  • Processing payments related to game guarantees specified in game contracts.

  • Track all athletics incoming revenue, ensuring comprehensive oversight and accurate financial forecasting.

  • Assist the Senior Associate Athletic Director in development and management of the annual operating budget.

  • Assist in preparation of the annual NCAA and EADA reports, ensuring all financial data is accurately posted and organized for proper reporting purposes.

  • Support the facility use and rental process by tracking agreements, issuing invoices, and ensuring timely receipt of payments.

  • Create financial and ad hoc reports as needed for Athletics leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and other governing policies, implementing risk management strategies to mitigate liability and uphold ethical standards.

  • Drive innovation and process efficiencies within the athletic business office, proactively identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational enhancements to support long-term financial sustainability.

  • Foster collaboration within the Athletic department and with campus partners to align departmental goals and objectives and promote a cohesive and integrated approach to achieving organizational success.

  • Performs other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in college and/or professional sports, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in college and/or professional sports, or related field.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Capacity for critical thinking with ability to challenge assumptions and think creatively.

  • Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
