Excelsior Orthopaedics Group EMR Training Specialist in Amherst, New York

The EMR Training Specialist is responsible for providing coaching, training, and continuous support to new and existing staff on EMR processes and workflows. The EMR Training Specialist will work closely with clinical leaders to understand their needs and establish training protocols and guidelines for EMR processes and workflows. Additionally, the EMR Training Specialist will work closely with human resources to ensure training processes, materials and resources, and methodologies are aligned with company standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, audit, and regularly update comprehensive training plans for a variety of roles, specifically but not limited to scribe and clinical support specialist

  • Apply adult learning theory concepts when developing training plans in order to incorporate a variety of teaching modalities and assessment tools

  • Provide training to new and existing staff with touchpoints throughout the training process to assess skills, knowledge, and abilities

  • Monitor, track, and regularly evaluate progress of trainees; provide coaching, support, and creative solutions for the trainee to meet expectations and adjust training plans as needed

  • Recommend and ultimately implement training plan changes that result in best practices that achieve increased efficiencies and qualitative gains

  • Provide onboarding assistance to ensure EMR set-up and access is appropriate based on position requirements

  • Work collaboratively with application specialist team as well as other departments to ensure training plans align with project plans

  • Serve as a role model for customer service while building an innovative approach to maximizing utilization of the EMR

  • Provide leadership in resolving specific training concerns, either on a one-on-one basis or in groups

  • Travel to multiple locations to perform job duties as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or two (2) years experience regularly working in an EMR

  • Medent experience required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to effectively exchange information with patients, providers, and staff
